YAAY. So do you have a horse of your own? You ride english, right? Man, I swear, everyone at [info]equestrian are english pplz. I'm all western and all like *meep* where are the lopers and the barrel racers? but then again, you can find those types probably at a barrelracing community on el jay or somethin'. hahahaha. XD

Woe, no, I don't have a horse of my own. :( I actually just recently started riding, about a month ago. I would've started when I was a horse-obsessed kid, but my parents were dead against it. *sigh*
Yep, I ride english. Western looks awesome, but everytime I see it I think it must be so easy to fall off!! Do you have a horse of your own? Gawd, you must be one of those super experienced [info]equestrian people that compete and win prizes and everything. *bows down to j00!*

yeah. i am in a dinky barn in the middle of Brooklyn, NY. Right smack in the ghetto. Most people ride english there, but there's a few westerners like meh. We ride in Prospect Park. Where you be at?

Oh, everyone is from the states or canada! I'm from australia actually, still searching for a good riding school to continue some serious riding from where I left off.
What do you do at the barn, exactly? Is it like a school...or a club kinda thing? o.O

Nope, it's a school. People call their stables/riding school 'barns or stables'. They give trail rides and lessons. I go there for lessons, and I work there once a week pulling out horses, grooming, tacking, mucking and help give trail rides and lessons and stuff to stupid tourists who think that kicking the horse and pulling on it's reins will make it go.

ooh!! that sounds fantastic!!! So do you work there in exchange for lessons? That's actually what I'm planning to do at my barn/school. xD And yes, stupid tourists really are annoying, I once met a tourist who thought a horse was a donkey, LOL. How silly can some people be.

(lol! thanks! seriously lacking of horses though)

HA. No, I still have to pay, but when you work there, you learn a lot really fast. XD Actually, my barn has a website. http://www.kensingtonstables.com hasn't been updated in like 3 years tho. rofl.

Donkey=horse....how? XDD

so where did you ride before you were looking for a school?

Whoa your barn looks awesome. And cheap lessons, wth!? LUCKY!!! I'm paying like $67 per lesson atm! *dies* And haha the trail rides look awesome. *loves trail rides*

I was riding up northern australia before this, in queensland. My aunt owns an adgistment center up there so I stayed there for about a month and a half learning under her all about em horsies. ^^;

yeah, i picked this place because it was the cheapest. there was a manhattan one, but they only did english lessons and it's full of rich snobby people. so i wasn't interested.

i'm all up on the western cuz i like gymkhana way much. actually obsessed. i need my western and chaps and cowboy hats. rofl.

but my instructor teaches me some english stuff too, like to post and use both hands and stuff, because he says english has good foundation. blah blaaahh. XD

man, australia. i just think that's so cool. XDD trail rides are fun if you know how to ride. for tourists, most of the time it's just following one horse.

whenever i go on a trailride, it's like a trail lesson because my instructor always likes me to keep learning. he's totally passionate about horses and gives me lessons for way longer then they should be. (we get trail lessons and the 'the SHOE' lessons, the SHOE is an outdoor ring where you do the typical riding lesson).

ah rich snobby riders with their must-clean boots and spotless jods. i get what you mean haha.

gymkhana? isn't that like...pole bending...and stuff? forgive me i'm wrong. LOL cowboy hats are LOVE.

guh, i'll never get the diff between western and english, what with the hands and seat and whatnot.
You're lucky to have a good instructor. and two kinds of lessons, geez i wish I lived in NY now!

hahahaha. yessss. expensiveee clean boots and jods.

yep! gymkhana is pole bending, barrel racing (♥ tottalllyyyy my sport), and other such timing sorts. they're t3h awesome. rodeo stuffs.

western and english are pretty different, in simple terms, western=1 hand, english=2 hands. different saddles (u knew that). etc etc. i dunno, i know less about english.

okay, it's 2:44AM here. time for bed. nice chattin' with ya! if you have AIM you can hit me up on "i avoid work". :D
